I don't know what you mean by that. How are you panning it?

Re: Error message. Haven't touched a thing.

The "three section version of Audacity" is, for example: Audacity 1.2.6, or 1.3.4, or 2.0.1, or 2.0.6
If you look in "Help > About Audacity" you will see that the three part version number is clearly displayed.

Re: Error message. Haven't touched a thing.

It means that Audacity is unable to access the audio device that is selected for recording.
What are you trying to record, and what is selected in the device toolbar?

Re: Shepard Tone without plugin

That works! I tried to produce the same effect without having to trim clips but couldn't. Why is that? I'd guess that it is because you're not doing something right :? If you describe, step by step, exactly what you are doing (in sufficient detail so that we can reproduce it exactly), then we may b...

No idea at all until you tell us:
  • which version of Windows you are using,
  • the exact three-section version of Audacity (from Help > About Audacity)
  • the exact error message.

Re: Dropping in on a previously recorded track.

There are other ways to do it - that's just the way that I usually work. An alternative is to select from just before where you want the drop-in to just after the drop-in on the "Take two" track, then press Shift+R (Append Record). This method is a little quicker to execute, but the disadv...

Re: Dropping in on a previously recorded track.

Silence the bad bit, then record the "drop-in" onto a new track. What I generally do is to work with one "master track" (the original recording) and one "Take-two" track. After making a new "drop-in" (which will be on a new track below the "Take-two track...

Re: Nyquist functions for selection and cut/paste

Beginner in Nyquist langage, I would like to program an effect of "time fragmentation" of the sound. For that, I need fonctions of time selection, and cutting and pasting Nyquist is a programming (scripting) language that has been shoehorned into Audacity. The way that Audacity and Nyquis...

Re: Feature Request

How about if the Mixerboard had a "master" slider that ganged the sliders of all selected tracks so that moving the master slider by, say -4 dB, would cause the Gain sliders of all selected tracks to move by the same amount (-4 dB)? but too much modification can be harmful If the tracks ar...
