That may well be the problem. WxWidgets 3.x is not yet supported and there are many bugs when building with version 3.
The required version is 2.8 http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Devel ... requisites

I'm not able to reproduce that problem.

Re: Crashes when playing tracks with labels

I'm running Audacity 2.1.0 built from tarball, running on Debian 8 (jessie), and using JACK. Configuration command line was "./configure --with-ffmpeg=local" because trying to compile with the distro-provided ffmpeg fails with lots of errors (please fix that). Unfortunately, FFmpeg change...

Re: Record on-line radio

1) Choose the Windows WASAPI Audio Host 2) Select the (loopback) input in the Recording Device box. Choose the loopback input for the computer playback device you will be listening to (for example, "Speakers (loopback)" ). 3) Ensure that the "recording channels" is set to "2...

Re: Get background music from two different language tracks

You probably can't remove the vocal entirely, but you can reduce the level of the vocal quite substantially using the "Vocal Remover" effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/vocal_remover.html The English version seems to work a bit better than the Japanese version. Here is an extract...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 can't open new projects using a shortcut

Sorry but you are wrong about that, Steve, as I wrote in the bug report. Take a look in Windows Task Manager in the "Processes" tab after executing 2.0.5 a second time - there is still only one "audacity.exe". No need to be sorry ;) As I wrote in the same bug report the "ev...

The LAME download site was down earlier today. It's back up now.
