Thanks for the feedback.
Windows 10 will not be officially supported until Windows 10 is officially released, but good to know that it appears to be free of issues.
If you wish to test the current version of Audacity (2.1.0) you can download it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows

And this is the sample post removal: If you use the default settings as shown below, the result sounds much better to my ear. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/m/images/5/5e/noisereduction.png This audio sample uses the default setting but with the "Noise Reduction" pushed up to 48 dB: pre...

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re
As an example of the audio, this is a file before the background is removed: Thanks for the samples, but for testing we require audio that contains (at least) a couple of seconds of "noise only" AND a couple of seconds of the recorded audio (the part that we want to keep). Noise reduction...

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re
The new version has not actually changed very much in terms of algorithm. The main change is that the FFT windows are now correctly shaped, and in repeated tests with many different audio samples that fix has made a significant improvement. I definitely don't think that we want to lose that improvem...

Re: Comparing Noise Removal/Reduction between 2.0.6 and 2.1.
Is not the default sensitivity setting a good one? Imo the default sensitivity is just right, but outside of the default setting I do not find that control to be intuitive. With the old version I could mentally picture what the Sensitivity control was doing and to some extent predict what change wo...

Re: Only static when recording YouTube
The WASAPI method should work.
Please try that again and check carefully that your settings in the device toolbar match with the device that you are trying to record.
If that does not work, please detail which options you have available and which options are selected and we'll take it from there.

Re: progressive effect?
You can do that with most effects using this technique: 1) Duplicate the track (Select the track then Ctrl+D) 2) Apply the effect to the duplicate track as a "Wet" track (effect only). 3) Apply a Fade-In effect to the duplicate track. 4) Use the track Gain controls on the original ("D...

Re: Only static when recording YouTube
I have both RealTek and Any Soft Virtual sound. I couldn't find "Any Soft Virtual sound" on a Google search. Do you mean "AnvSoft Virtual Sound Driver" (part of "Any Video Converter")? Have you tried using WASAPI as described here? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/...
