Re: Attaching audio to picture
I am working on a presentation and would like to attach Audacity audio to a picture or an object in my documents file. How do I do this? Audacity creates "Audacity projects", which are a format that is only understood by Audacity. To create a normal audio file you must "Export Audio&...

Re: Repair/Auto Heal
The time taken to process is not the only consideration to setting the maximum length for the Repair tool. A slow computer should be able to process over 500 samples "eventually" (though it may take a very long time). The algorithm used by the Repair tool works very well with short clicks ...

Re: Can I use a XLR to 1/4 cable for my Sennheiser e835?
Just bought a Sennheiser e835 that comes with a XLR to XLR cable. I am wondering if I can plug in a XLR to 1/4 jack? Yes you can do that, but it may not work very well. Is the 1/4 jack socket intended for connecting a dynamic microphone? Is the 1/4" jack socket intended for a balanced or unbal...

Re: Recording silence below specific threshold
Just do a normal recording (without using voice activation), then when you have finished recording, use a "Noise Gate" to silence the parts that are below a certain threshold. There is a Noise Gate plugin here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Noise_Gate Installati...

Re: Pattern Based Audio Splitting
Audacity has a powerful scripting language built in called "Nyquist". See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Plug-ins_Reference i was thinking like generating a fingerprint of that pattern , searching through audio for that matches the fingerprint and split the audio. A tough job.

Re: USB Input Level Too High – Need help!
Recording Device: Microphone – Realtek High Definition (other option is Microsoft Sound Mapper – Input. It appears I am missing a USB option.) In that case I don't understand why Audacity is getting any signal at all :? The only connection between the Pro-Ject Phono Box USB pre-amp and your laptop ...

Re: question about microphone input due to updating drivers
Perhaps you should try rolling back the drivers to the previous version.

Re: question about microphone input due to updating drivers
Ensure that Skype is not running - not even in the background. Skype will often grab exclusive control of the mic so that it is not available to other applications. Then check in the Windows Sound Control Panel to ensure that Windows is seeing a signal (bouncing green bars) when you talk into the mic.
