Re: Setting the bitrate for Export to Multiple
To set the file format and bit rate, assuming that you're using Audacity 2.1.0, see here in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ex ... tiple.html

Re: Is this a supported file type?
IMA ADPCM is an available option if you set the file format to "other uncompressed file types. Set the sample rate by setting the "project rate" (lower left corner of the main Audacity window to 8000 before you export (Audacity always uses the "project rate" for the sample r...

Re: shift audio precisely 0,0001 sec
The smallest time unit for digital (PCM) audio is 1 sample period. If the sample rate is 44100 Samples per second, then 1 sample period is 1/44100 = 0.022675737 ms.
If you need greater resolution in the time domain, resample the audio to a higher sample rate (Tracks menu > Resample)

Re: Tape recorder randomly stops playing
The recorder looks like brand new so I believe that it doesn't need any part replacement for now. Difficult to tell with drive belts. They can look perfect (especially after being cleaned) but still lack the necessary grip due to ageing. If they look shiny, then cleaning with IPA may help in the sh...

Re: Latency correction - Blue Snowball
Post split to new topic. With Audacity closed, look in the Windows Sound Control Panel and ensure that the Blue Snowball is working (green bouncing meter in the Recording tab). Then open Audacity and try setting "Host" : MME, Buffer : 100 ms, latency correction : -130 ms. and the recording...

Wow - I just "accidentally" typed in "-12" as the Noise Reduction amount and ended up with +335.4 dB of gainRobert J. H. wrote:Another possible difficulty:
There doesn't seem to be a input control.
Enter "-10" as noise reduction factor

Re: Record headset microphone and speakers into different tr
I'd like to record my headsets microphone into one track and the speakers audio into another Audacity can only record from one "device" at a time. If you have a multi-channel sound card that works as one device with normal Windows drivers, then you can record as many channels as Windows m...

Re: Tape recorder randomly stops playing
I'd definitely go with cyrano's suggestion of winding through the cassette before playing - preferably wind by hand as "fast forward" on a cassette player may wind the tape too tight or unevenly. Mechanical hand winders are good for this job, otherwise the slow method of twiddling a pen/pe...
