Re: locked Play Region/cursor
Dragging a selection in the waveform with Quick-Play drag is enabled by default. But it can be dangerous when you are only clicking to Quick-Play. I think this is a bug. 1 Generate Tone 30 seconds. 2 Select some region before 10s such as 2s to 5s. 3 Click in the Timeline at 10s, then click again at...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
However, you have only locked the "play from" position for non-looped playback. Looped playback does not start from your locked position, so this is definitely not behaving consistently or logically. You mean standard looped playback SHIFT + SPACE? True, but I understand you are going to ...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
I assume you meant Edit Menu (but yes the Region Save at least should arguably be in View Menu). Yes I meant "Edit Menu", though I disagree that "Region Save" should be in the View Menu. Region Save / Restore is a "selection" operation. It saves /restores the selection...

Re: scripts in Audacity 2.1.0
It is possible to edit an audio file with a chain of effects in Audacity 2.1.0. Yes it is. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/chains_for_batch_processing_and_effects_automation.html I would want to know if there is a Nyquist plug-in whom would allow at a moment of the chain of effect, to edi...

Re: Asymmetric Waveforms via Blue Yeti mic
Also the recording volume is way too loud causing the audio to be clipped. That's not a fault with the mic, that's just that you are recording too loud. Interestingly (badly so) the left (upper) channel is clipped at about 0.4 on the positive side of the waveform. As Koz suggest - check it out on an...

Re: simple question
CD quality (16 bit 44100 Hz stereo) works out at about 10MB per minute or (a bit over) 600 MB per hour. You will get a lot of CD quality WAV files on a 16 GB stick. FLAC format has the same quality and better metadata support for about half the file size. Best get two sticks so that you have a backu...

Re: simple question
Check out the price and capacity of new thumb drives. It's getting hard to find one as "small" as 8 GB. Shop around on line and you can get 32GB for about $12 US (with free shipping).dankgray wrote:I was hoping to get at least 25 hours of lecture on a single 8 Gb thumb drive.

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
Your interpretation of "correctly". If it was "correct" interpretation then we would prevent Tracks > Add Label at Selection from adding a label at the cursor position, and we would prevent Region Save from saving the cursor position. Don't you see the inconsistency of Region Sa...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
Were you planning to modify what standard loop play does when there is no selection, Steve? I'm in favour of doing the same for normal loop-play, unless there's a compelling reason why not. (I can't think of one). If it can be done I really think that we should show the temporary play region as wel...
