How about "Transport Lock"?
I think that it should apply to recording as well as playback.

Re: Exported file did not reflect edits
Good, that means that the Export has worked correctly.yoyelena wrote:when I open it in either Audacity or QuickTimePlayer, it plays correctly.
I don't use iTunes, but there is a section in the manual about exporting to iTunes: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... tunes.html

Re: Exported file did not reflect edits
Did you export with a new and unique name? If not, try that - it may be that your media player is playing the old version rather than the new file.

Re: nyquist prompt to fade EQ
Moving topic to the Nyquist forum. Lets say, for example, I have a track and I've boosted the 110hz and 220hz frequencies and reduced all the rest and I want those frequencies (or pitches) to bend up to 130hz and 250hz over 20 seconds. Is this possible using a Nyquist prompt? Yes. Something like thi...

Re: restarting audicity file
You've mostly got it :) As you correctly deduce "Audacity projects" are stored in two parts - there is the .AUP file that has the Audacity logo, and there is a "_data" folder. The AUP file is usually quite small and contains a list of instructions for Audacity - it does not conta...

Re: Audacity heading towards spamnation??
Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the inconvenience. Unfortunately the long-time (15 years) hosting of Audacity at Sourceforge was dropped by Sourceforge a few days ago without notice. The new web address for Audacity is: http://audacityteam.org/ or http://web.audacityteam.org/ Fosshub is the ...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
I have a mild preference for "Enable dragging" being the default as it highlights this new feature and I think that it is possibly the more useful option. Yes I agree, except for the problem of selection removal. Hmm, I'm starting to think that it may be better for "Enable dragging&q...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
I have to be on the ball so we don't remove existing features (as the user sees them) if possible/practical. Yes I do see your point. I would not want to remove a feature (even a buggy "accidental" feature) if there is no alternative way to accomplish the task. I realise that there are a ...

Re: Audacity won't start
About WinXP SP3 - that is my choice, Sure it is, but it would be irresponsible of us to not point out that there are risks to using an obsolete operating system. Also, there will inevitably be an increasing number of compatibility problems with modern software. The Audacity developers decided that ...

Re: combinins multiple audacity files
If you just want to transfer the recording to the other machine, "Export" from the Audacity project ("File menu > Export > Audio") to create a normal audio file (for example a WAV file), then transfer the WAV file to the other machine. If you want to move the entire Audacity Proj...
