Re: what you hear
The equivalent of "What U Hear" on Linux is to record from the "Monitor" input in PulseAudio. See here for details: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_linux.html However, that will only allow you to record the streaming audio and not the ...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
To me, there are more contradictions/lack of analogy (plus a feature regression) in not providing a defined play from lock. I don't disagree with the "functionality" that you want. In fact I agree. What I disagree about is how we achieve that functionality. Currently we have a mishmash of...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
If we agree that the "Transport > Lock" locks the record region, then I would assume that overdub recording plays the locked region (and needless to say if there was a locked "play from" point I would have it play from the locked "play from" point to the end of the tra...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
If the slider is only enabled when the Play-at-Speed button is depressed, No, I didn't suggest that, and I think that would be far too limited. If we were to do that then there's little point in putting the speed slider into the Control Toolbar. What I agree is a good idea is providing an extra but...

Re: Mono mixing to 5.1 - No front left/right sound.
All I want is a balanced signal from left to right, and it doesn't seem I'm able to achieve this doing any simple methods. I should be able to record a guitar track and hear it through both right/left speakers right? On a stereo playback system, yes you can do it very simply. A mono (single channel...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
I quite like the idea of the extra downward pointing grey "play from" position though we would want that also when there is no selection region. Yes, the "play position" icon would always indicate the "play position". How does user enable the play speed slider and how ...

If you use the new style meters, that is equivalent of the meters going up to the yellow/amber region.Esceha wrote:I think by giving less or more volume, the best result is fluctuate / move between 0,4 and 0,7

Re: what you hear
I work in a newsroom and need my computer to record audio from a TV cable box (connected to my soundcard Line In), AND to be able to record audio from streaming videos et al viewed in my browser. In my opinion, the "best" way to do that would be with two computers and a little mixing desk...
