Re: locked Play Region/cursor

If we do implement the play speed slider are we planning to make it dynamic - I.e the speed can be changed while playing not just before playing? Yes, definitely. Another thought when all this is decided - should the locked position be saved in the AUTOSAVE and AUP? I don't see a strong case for do...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor

OK, you've added "Lock End" which lets user define the end of playback without having to define and lock a selection region starting from the track start. I've never felt the need but it could be useful so why not? We have been asked on the forum, how to automatically stop a recording aft...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor

I'm more than "not keen", I think we can't do A). I'm also more than "not keen" on A - I'm definitely a big -1 for the reason that Steve states. Good. We all agree about that :) B) On starting recording, the play region is temporarily removed, unless locked, and restored when th...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor

So we would have to fix these two bugs first: Bug 133 – Play-at-Speed slider: Change of playback speed is no longer automatic Bug 235 – Play-at-Speed slider: Change of playback speed auto-restarts from cursor Yes. I am hopeful about James' proposal for how to fix this. Sorry but I'm still not clear...

Re: Using Aggregate Device in Audacity

How many channels does your aggregate device have?
How many channels are you recording? (look in the device toolbar).

Re: how to make low frequencies MORE audible

A simple test.

Generate a "chirp" (in the Generate menu), with these settings:
Start frequency: 300 Hz
Start Amplitude: 0.8
End Frequency 20 Hz
End Amplitude; 0.8
Interpolation: Logarithmic
Duration 30 seconds

Play the track. Can you hear the sound right down to 20 Hz?

Re: Help with Behringer UCA222

Do you have any tips for dealing with latency when overdubbing? For example: I'm using phones plugged into the UCA222 to monitor the backing track as well as the track that I'm recording, and I'm getting a delay on what I'm playing. Is there any way around this? This is hardware dependent, so I nee...

Re: Help with Behringer UCA222

Try it with "Host" set to MME and the recording device set to "BEHRINGER USB WDM". Make a test recording. If it records a "flat line" (silence), try applying the Amplify effect. That should tell you whether it really is "silence" or just recording at a very lo...
