Re: Remove chirping, maybe by going mono

Is there a way to simply use the left channel for both left and right for that one minute section, without having to copy, paste, and time shift (since it'll change the time)? Try the "Channel Mixer" plug-in: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Channel_Mixer Instruct...

Re: Problems with Sound Finder & Find Clipping

Find Clipping wasn't finding any even though the red marks were present. Could this be because I'd used Normalize->Remove DC Offset? Or perhaps because I'd used Clip Fix and now the peaks were not clipped anymore although they exceeded 0 dB? "Find Clipping" should find all peaks that exce...

Re: Pinpointing the mouth click.

Clicks can sometimes show up most clearly in "Spectrogram" view, appearing as higher intensity (red or white) dots or lines: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audio_track_dropdown_menu.html#spgram Generally you would want to increase the "Window Size" ("Edit > Preferences...

Re: Auto Levelling makes Files unusable

Ensure that all "sound enhancements" and playback effects are turned off. You will find the "Windows sound enhancements" here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements Some sound cards have a separate control panel with additional effec...

Re: Why does Sliding Time/ Pitch Scale have two halves?

As described in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sliding_time_scale_pitch_shift.html The left side is the "initial" settings and the right side is the "final" settings. When applied, the audio will gradually transform from the "initial" setting to the &q...

Short answer - no, not without destroying or at least "severely damaging" the foreground sound.

Re: Auto Levelling makes Files unusable

This is maybe not a strict audacity Problem Your right, it's not an Audacity problem - Audacity can't do that even if you want it to ;) To apply an effect in Audacity you have to specifically apply the effect within the "project". "Export" is just a copy of the project audio. Ho...

Re: How to I disable quickplay?

In the current version of Audacity, Quick-Play cannot be disabled. In the next version of Audacity (2.1.1) Quick-Play may be disabled by right-click on the Timeline and select "Disable Quick-Play" from the context menu that appears. You may find that the new Quick-Play feature "gets i...

Re: Cannot record audio coming from computer

Try turning "Overdub" off (not selected).
If you still can't get "Stereo Mix" to work, try the "WASAPI loopback" method (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... ndows.html)

Re: No Time Adjustment

I'm not sure what you mean, but perhaps you had the multi-tool selected.
If that's it, then you should also look at the Time Shift tool.
