Re: Monitoring time difference between two points on wavefor
Try running this Nyquist script using the Nyquist Prompt effect (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/nyquist_prompt.html) The first two lines set the threshold for the peaks (must be a little below the peaks that you want to measure), and the minimum time between successive peaks (in seconds). The ...

Re: Monitoring time difference between two points on wavefor
What is the minimum gap between successive peaks?
What is the minimum amplitude of a peak? (if the absolute amplitude is not important, it may be easier if you normalize to 0 dB before analyzing: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/normalize.html)

Re: Vamp plugins not found
I used the 32-bit Linux versions. I'm not able to test other versions. They appear in Audacity's "Analyze" menu, but the names in the menu are a bit cryptic and it takes a bit of time and effort working out what they do and how to use them. Here's the link: https://github.com/bbcrd/bbc-vam...

Re: Compressor Noise Floor description for manual
I am not talking about a general description for curious non-users of Audacity, like what already exists, because that does not help those of us who are trying to fully exploit its usefulness. I am talking about actually giving a technical/engineering description, preferably including graphs. The c...

Re: Monitoring time difference between two points on wavefor
When I tried exporting data, it did not export values of sound level and time but rather some other values to do with frequency. "Sample Data Export" (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sample_data_export.html) exports "sample values". If you are not sure what that means, read...

Re: LAME 3.99.5 is the latest version
Not when used in Audacity.rambomhtri wrote:Is there any big advantage of the 3.99.5 version?
Lame 3.99.5 has a bug fix for decoding MP3s, but Audacity only uses Lame for encoding, so that's not relevant to Audacity. I'm not aware of any compelling reasons to use 3.99.5 rather than 3.993.

Re: Audacity plays noise and crashes
The version of Audacity in the Ubuntu 15.04 is built with Wx3.0. The required version of Wx for Audacity is 2.8. Consequently there are many problems with the build of Audacity that Ubuntu currently ship. Probably the best solution until Wx3 is supported by Audacity is to use the PPA from this page ...

Re: SteelSeries Siberia v2 Headset Audacity
Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel . Can you get a good level from the microphone on the input meter in the recording tab? If not, then you will not be able to get a good level in Audacity because Audacity gets its input from the computer sound system. With headset mics, the position of the mic...
