I'll go for "pretty much unsalvagable".

Re: Timeline on very long recordings faster than real time

Hmm. What is the timebase of the Audacity timeline? The time is calculated from the sample count. Example: If the sample rate is requested at 100,000 samples per second, then Audacity will position the samples at intervals of 0.01 ms. My guess at what is happening is that some samples are being dro...

Re: Need Help Isolating Vocals On A Video

If the track is mono, then isolating the vocals is near impossible.
If it is a stereo track, then you have a chance (but definitely not guaranteed success). See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... ation.html

Re: Undo vocoder - extract original voice audio

If you had the exact algorithm used, you could reverse it easily. No, I don't think that you could. Vocoding is (very) lossy in that it reduces frequency bands to discrete frequencies. There is no way to determine what the actual content of each frequency band was before it was encoded. If the Auda...

Re: Undo vocoder - extract original voice audio

Can I still extract the original voice audio(s)? Perhaps by systematically scanning frequencies or somewhat. No you can't. The vocoder effect is a one way trip. There is no "de-vocode" effect. If you used the vocoder effect in Audacity, you can use "Undo" (Ctrl+Z or select "...

Re: Only one waveform mp3 files

at 2 mins 10 seconds says you should have a space under the selected piece. He's added a label. See here for how to use labels in Audacity 2.1.0: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html The reason that he has added a label is so that he can use "Export multiple" and export ...

Re: Removing breaths

I think your best bet is going to be to use one of the limiters (eg "broadcast limiter III") If you decide to use a limiter, I'd suggest that you try this one: limiter.ny This limiter will be included in the next release of Audacity. It was designed for Audacity 2.1.1 (or later), but I th...

Re: need advice re96/32float recording

there's no point (unless you can explain the point) in trying the default settings as I would never use those. Trouble shooting. We know that "something" is wrong, but we have no idea what is wrong, so we need to narrow that down. You may have changed a setting that is now causing the pro...

Re: All playback now high-speed

I'm using pavucontrol to set ALSA capture to the Logitech USB headset. I had previously set the ALSA playback to be the Logitech USB headset, too. But I've just tried it again and I no longer have the option to select a play back device per application Are you aware that Audacity can only be select...
