Re: Noise reduction and too high volume

What you really need is a video camera which has manual audio gain control. That allows you to set the audio recording level to a low level and so avoid overloading (clipping) the audio. Cameras such as the "Zoom Q2HD" or the newer "Zoom Q4" or "Alesis VideoTrack" can d...

Re: Noise reduction and too high volume

Which minus db did you used in amplify? It's not critical. I just lowered the level "a bit" so that the waveform was not banging against the top/bottom of the track. Try about -3 dB. Could you tell me which settings I have to check so next time sound would be normal and not like this? I t...

Re: Passing the ACX test, BUT does it sound any good?

That's your typical condenser 10 KHz peak. Condenser mics frequently have a slight "presence peak" at around 10 kHz, but the peak shown in Koz's image looks way bigger than expected. http://cdn.recordinghacks.com/images//graphs/rode/NT1-NT1A-frequency.png http://forum.audacityteam.org/dow...

Re: Noise reduction and too high volume

The sound is very badly damaged and it is not possible to make much improvement. I think this is a little better: processed.flac I amplified the track to a slightly lower level ("Effect > Amplify" and set a negative amount of amplification), then used the "Telephone" preset in th...

Re: Tiny bit of blaring Mic feedback kills a whole song... H

I have a recording of some of my friends singing a song at an event, but the mic got feedback for like 2 seconds and I can't find a way to remove it... Help please? It is probably impossible to remove the feedback and end up with a perfect recording, but it is probably possible to make the feedback...

We also want to do it relatively cheap since we dont know if this is something we will like to do more or less. That is a very good (and often overlooked) point. People often think that they need to spend a load of money on their "studio", then it is just a matter of going into their &quo...

Re: Skipping during recording

I've had this setup for ages and it's always worked, but lately I've been having problems since I got a new laptop (a Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W). Just to clarify... Did the problem appear when you first got the new PC, or was it working OK on the new PC and then stop working on the new PC? (Has...
