Imagine, -0,1 and -0,15 db The difference between -0.1 dB and -0.15 dB is an imperceptibly small amount. The attached file has one word recorded, which is then repeated. The repeat is 0.05dB different from the original. Can you hear which one is louder? To me, they both sound exactly the same. test...

Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel to see if the device is recognised by windows as a recording device.

There are (technically) lots of problems with how Audacity handles multiple open projects. Ctrl+N is a relatively safe way to open more than one project, but there are still many problems that need to be resolved. Getting this "right" is very difficult, but it is something that the develop...

The Amplify effect goes to 2 decimal places, so if you really need the second decimal place, use the Amplify effect.

This certainly could be "fixed" to give 2, 3, 4 or more decimal places, but what is the need for smaller divisions than 0.1 dB?

You've not said what exactly the USB device is, but if it takes batteries then I'd guess that flat batteries could be the problem.
