Re: No loop playback button?
I think it's that you don't then have to draw a selection, only place the cursor? OK, but what's the job? Why would a user want to loop between the cursor position to the end of the track? What does that facilitate that cannot be achieved by just pressing the spacebar when play reached the end of t...

Re: The problem with effect "Normalize".
Shouldn't be hard to fix those issues. The main task is to list the effects in question and to agree on the needed accuracy. +1 It's an easy change once we have agreed on the required accuracy. The QA mailing list is probably the correct forum for that, but all mailing lists are down at the moment ...

Re: The problem with effect "Normalize".
How many users will research to find that out Perhaps 1 in 100000? :? How many users will need amplification to many decimal places? If" there is a use case for normalizing stereo channels independently to two decimal places of accuracy or to remove DC offset while normalizing to two decimal p...

Re: need advice re96/32float recording
I will try to remember to write out all the zeros from now on. Just writing "kHz" would be fine ;) The important thing is clarity - you'd be surprised at the amount of confusion that crops up on the forum due to "insignificant details" (such as the difference between "kbps&...

Re: The problem with effect "Normalize".
There are many cases, but generally it is not due to a recent "design decision" to change the accuracy, but rather that the default accuracy is now strictly enforced (validated) whereas previous it was not.Gale Andrews wrote:That Paulstretch example seems a poor decision

Re: The problem with effect "Normalize".
If you wish to normalize to a very low level, you can normalize down to -99.9 dB (which is extremely quiet and well below the minimum amplitude for 16-bit audio). Presumably there is a "scientific" use case for two decimal places of accuracy? For "scientific" cases, there is a &q...

Re: No loop playback button?
There is less consensus if loop should loop the whole track cursor-to-cursor, or loop from cursor to track end. If its one or the other, I would vote for looping the whole track from the cursor position, (though I'm not convinced that we need a dedicated loop play button now that we have the Quick ...

Re: Is this 1943 "home record" a lost cause?
Just filtering out everything below about 100 Hz and everything above about 3000 Hz seems to be as "good" as anything else.

Re: Updated to Yosetime - can't get Audacity
There does not seem to be a dmg file in my download? Perhaps you have the wrong download. Try re-downloading the "Audacity 2.1.1 .dmg file" from here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/mac Instructions for installing are on that page. Note also the "Known Issue:" about securi...
