Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
It seems you have to go into "manage", find it in the "new" category, and "enable" it. This is documented in the manual (see the blue box here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/effect_menu.html#nyquist_effects and the link to: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/m...

Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
The 'Hard Limiter' plugin I used before was a LADSPA plugin (hard_limiter_1413.dll) Using a Wet level of 0.0 and a Residue level of 1.0 I could achieve the desired effect. Ouch! Yes that would (sort of) work, but it would create distortion (similar to "amplifier crossover distortion" but ...

Re: Can I Save This (Your Help Is Greatly Appreciated)
I downloaded it, but the ZIP file would not open.
Please download a short extract (just a few seconds) in WAV format. See here for how to do that: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 49&t=72887

Re: sharpening one muffled speaker (of two)
Are the two voices on separate Audacity tracks, or do you just have a single file with the two voices mixed together? If you don't have the voices recorded separately, then the job is pretty tough. You cannot process one voice and not the other if the voices occur at the same time. If the voices alt...

Re: Version 2.1.1.0 doesn't "remember" equalization :¬(
It's a bug that was unfortunately not noticed until just after 2.1.1 was released.
It has been given "P1" (highest) priority so something must be done about it (hopefully a full fix) before the next release.

That would have been a "Gate" ("Noise Gate") not a "Limiter".UltraNerd wrote:In the past I used the Hard Limiter effect to remove everything BELOW a certain threshold, say -50 dB.

Low frequency roll-off for speech
This Eq curve seems to be popular and very useful for people doing voice recordings, and it certainly helps to achieve ACX compliance. Perhaps this (or a similar curve) would be a good addition to the shipped EQCurves.xml <equalizationeffect> <curve name="LF rolloff for speech"> <point f=&...

Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
I ran into a similar problem where I needed more input gain. It was super easy to mod the limiter to give more range, this one does up to 32dB of input gain  . That's one of the nice things about Nyquist plug-ins, they are very easy to modify :) Of course you may modify plug-ins any way th...

Re: How do I apply an effect to a certain portion of a track
To apply an effect to just one part of a track, "Select" the part that you want to apply the effect to. By default, if no part is selected then Audacity will select everything. See here for how to "Select" audio: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_selection.html If you...
