Re: Every VST effects are disabled
I did that, ofcourse, I'v enabled It again, I pressed OK button, but they are disabled, I presume that you did click the "Enable" button for each effect before clicking the "OK" button? Which version of Windows are you using and which "known to work" plug-ins are you h...

Re: Trouble building 2.1.1 on Ubuntu Vivid
Looks like you are building with WxGTK-3.0, which is not yet supported.
Probably the easiest solution would be to install Audacity 2.1.1 from this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/ ... u/audacity

Re: Every VST effects are disabled
Have you tried enabling the "known to work" plug-ins with the plug-in manager? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ma ... yzers.html

Re: Can I Save This (Your Help Is Greatly Appreciated)
Sorry but not much you can do with that.
You can apply the Amplify effect followed by the Equalization effect with the "Telephone" preset, and that's about as good as it gets, but I still can't make out what is being said.

Re: Tascam US-122L compatability
If the US-122L works with Ubuntu 14.04 then it should work fine with Audacity. I don't have a US-122L so I don't know if it will work with Ubuntu, but more recent information on the Internet suggests that it should work. Best thing is to try it. Assuming that it does work, you should connect the US-...

Re: sharpening one muffled speaker (of two)
I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by two separate tracks If it was an Audacity recording, it could have been a "multi-track" recording like this: tracks001.png The episode's in one mp3 file (it's an interview). The problem that you will have is in separating the two voices so that you...

Re: Low frequency roll-off for speech
Is "Rolloff" more gradual at the transition so that is more correct for this than "Cut"? Both terms "Rolloff" and "Cut" are used in this context. I have a slight preference for the term "Rolloff" as I think it imparts a sense of a "gradual tran...

Re: "Synthesized bass" plugin
One way that you can achieve a similar effect is; 1) Duplicate the track 2) Convert the duplicate track to mono 3) Use the Equalization effect to isolate the bottom octave of musical sound. You will want to remove sub-sonic noise (musically irrelevant rumble). For example, if the lowest musical soun...

Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
There was fireworks noise that was almost 0 dB that needed mitigation, I used a first pass of the "Pop Mute" plug-in The "pop mute" effect would probably work better in this case than the Limiter (or manually reduce the level where the fireworks go off using the envelope tool (h...

Re: double tracking
For "automatic double tracking" you can use the "Delay" effect.
For manual double tracking, record the same thing twice (second time as an "overdub") http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... rdubs.html
