Re: Sample rate unchanged after resampling from 192k to 96k
That's a lot of noise and distortion. So, you're saying 192 is overkill? Which part(s) of my setup (as mentioned above) do you think are most responsible for the noise and distortion? It's "a lot" in terms of the amount of inaudible bandwidth that you are recording, but not really "a...

Re: Humanize effect
Not quite the same. A (good) humanize effect will give the music a bit of a "swing" rather than just randomising.Trebor wrote:What about David Sky's randomiser plugins ? ...

Re: spectrum lo frequencies
Set the "Axis" control to "Log frequency".
(personally I think that should be the default)

Ensure that the device is connected to the computer and recognised by Windows before you start Audacity.

Re: Sample rate unchanged after resampling from 192k to 96k
The sample rate of exported files is set by the "Project Rate" (lower left corner of the main Audacity window).
Just wondering, why don't you record at 96 kHz?devoidzer0 wrote:After recording a track at 192kHz I downsampled it to 96kHz using the Tracks > Resample menu option.

I presume that you are referring to the greyed out tick? If an item is greyed out, that means that the item...

Re: Standard settings
I always start from recording with a maximum peak level close to -6 dB, no reverb other than the natural reverb of the recording space, no compression, no equalization. Then Normalize to -2 dB, If at this stage it sounds "bad", delete and start over. If it sounds reasonable, take it from t...

Re: Numeric value in amplify effect
I just discovered that I can use normaly numpad and the others numkeys to fill in the text box of the track's gain. But but still not the effects boxes. Could it be a problem with python? (Effects are in python, aren't they ?) The standard built-in effects are written in C++ using WxWidgets, which ...

Re: Humanize effect
"Humanize" effects are sometimes found on MIDI sequencers. "Humanize effect" is commonly used to make MIDI drum tracks sound less robotic by slightly varying the velocity and time positions of MIDI note events away from rigid, mathematically exact values. I've not seen a "hu...
