Re: Spectral analysis
So you are not analyzing " the exact same audio " each time. You are analyzing different recordings of similar white noise. "White Noise" is by definition "random", so unless you are analyzing a very long section, there will be significant variation in narrow band ampli...

I actually thought i was more louder than him. I am almost sure Listening to your jkgl.wav sample, your voice sounds like you are almost whispering. Try recording yourself shouting as loud as you can (adjust the recording levels so that the recording does not distort). Listen back to it and I bet t...

Re: Spectral analysis
They can be off as much as 3dB even though it is the exact same audio. I don't even have to record; I can just play it, then plot it, then play it again, then plot it again....and I still get different numbers off as much as 3dB. How is that happening and how can I fix it? Are you analyzing the exa...

Re: Static Noise (T Bone SC 440) Please help me :)
it is recorded when i was near to mic. How near? What is the distance between the front* of the mic and your mouth? Note that this type of mic picks up from the "front" not from the "end" - in other words it should be mounted vertically. The guy in this video has just a bit of n...

Is it the T-bone SC 440 or the T-bone SC 440 USB? If not the USB version, how is it connected to your computer? If it is the USB version, get close to the mic and project your voice. These mics are not good for recording quiet voices (same applies to other USB mics that don't have a "gain"...

Re: Shaded waveform view (when zoomed out)
It may have been useful to say at the top that this was the same request as what you previously called an "anti-aliased" waveform. That's perhaps my fault. I suggested that h-h avoided the term "anti-aliasing" as that caused so much confusion last time (and "anti-aliasing&q...

Re: Questions concerning Audacity and setting proper sound l
One of the most important things that ALSA does is that it communicates with the sound card hardware. PulseAudio is a software layer between applications and ALSA. It provides all of the features that we have come to expect of a modern sound system. In particular it allows multiple applications to a...

Re: Error: Internal PortAudio error
I upgraded to Windows 10 over the weekend and got the same message: "Error Initializing Audio could not find any audio devices. You will not be able to play or record audio. Error: Internal PortAudio error" would upgrading from Audacity 2.0.6 to the current version resolve this? Upgrading...
