Or position the mic a little higher so that the capsule lines up with the tip of your nose rather than your mouth.

Re: Bitrate for recording with Realtek and low volume

I wonder if this info from the datasheet on the ALC889 would tell me what it's really doing. That tells you what formats are supported, but does not tell you how it is doing it. For example it doesn't tell you whether 88.2 kHz is a clock doubled version of 44.1 kHz and is just interpolating data ca...

Re: C03U USB Microphone Problem

Koz mentioned activating the high-pass filter to reduce incidence of popping. (I already use a pop filter.) Is the high-pass filter really effective for this purpose? A pop filter is highly recommended, so good to hear that you are using one ;) Pop filters will certainly go a long way toward avoidi...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1: Downgrade from Win 10 to Win 7?

Audacity does not yet officially support Windows 10. Audacity tends to be quite fussy about sound card drivers - it's like the canary in the mine - if there is a sound card driver problem, Audacity will find it ;) Personally I would recommend that before updating to Windows 10, users should check th...

Re: Distortion and muffled soundtrack

Hey i have a 2 min AMR file voice recording, I cant figure out how to make it clearer or translate what was said. If the sound quality is so bad that you can't hear what is being said, then it is almost certainly beyond repair. Also, it's a bad idea to post your email address on public forums as &q...

Use "Stop and set cursor" (Shift + A) rather than "Stop".

Re: Amplify for low voice in podcast

I want to amplify to make that particular section louder it mutes the whole line. I included 2 screenshots. I bet that if you tried playing that track before amplifying it, it would play as silence. My bet is that this has nothing to do with the Amplify effect, but is to do with the sound "dis...

Re: about equalizer

There's nothing very special about the Audacity Equalization effect, It's just an FFT filter with a complicated interface. See: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/bl ... zation.cpp
