Re: Audio disappeared while the prog was still on
it already got a name for the .aup file but then the audio was captured by Satan himself. If you used "File menu > Save As" rather than "File menu > Save" (in Audacity 2.2.1), then Satan has eaten it and there is no way back. This was a very nasty bug. Should I give up on this o...

Re: Audio disappeared while the prog was still on
That was Audacity 2.2.1.waxcylinder wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 5:08 pmwe had a nasty bug a few releases back (I can't remember which exactly) where if you did that when you reopened the project it was all flat-lined.
We fixed it in Audacity 2.2.2 in mid February 2018 and announced it as an urgent bug fix release.

Re: Audacity does not recognize Behringer UMC 404HD interface
I think the Windows Driver 4.38 driver may be ASIO only.
The 4.59.0 driver says that it includes both ASIO and WDM. Audacity requires the WDM driver.

Re: 2 hour save...
How big is the project? What anti-virus / security products do you have installed? What is the exact version of Audacity? Which version of Windows? How much free space is there on your C: drive? What sort of computer? I'd recommend NOT saving directly to an external drive. If you want a backup copy ...

Re: Audio disappeared while the prog was still on
I'd highly recommend that you update to Audacity 2.4.2. You can get it via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/
Please note that the support that we can provide for Windows 7 is very limited as that version of Windows is obsolete.

Re: Audacity does not recognize Behringer UMC 404HD interface
Which version of the drivers did you install? "UMC Driver 4.59.0 (for Windows 7 to 10) " or "Windows Driver 4.38" or something else?

Re: Unable to launch audacity on kubuntu
Thanks.
Unfortunately I don't think that tells us anything useful.
The Pango error is related to font rendering, and I notice that there are Chinese character in your terminal dump. How are the language settings set up on your computer?

Re: How can I record Webex?
Audacity can only record from one device at a time. Windows treats a microphone as one device, and "sound playing on the computer" as another device, so you can't record from both at the same time with Audacity. You could enable "listen to this device" for the microphone in the W...

Re: How To Record Correctly
One possibility: Conferencing apps (such as Skype / Zoom) have a habit of changing the sound settings, which in turn can affect Audacity.AndyTheAstronomer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 1:15 pmFor some reason the record input had changed to "speakers" without me noticing.
