Re: Problems to set up effects.

The LADSPA versions worked great for me, but the LV2 version that I've tried repeatedly crash in Audacity.

Re: New version of "Crossfade Tracks"

So, in the currently released version of the plugin, those selections would crossfade rather than both fading out. Yes, but please also consider this case: tracks008.png In the current version, the fades will be the wrong way round. If I really wanted to crossfade those selections so that the entir...

Re: lame command line export

I have done some listening comparisons and sometimes "standard" has given better results (less artifacts) to my ears, with the classical/soft rock genres I work with. At high bit-rates I find both vbr-old and vbr-new to be "transparent", but vbr-new is very noticeably faster. At...

Re: Problems to set up effects.

Steve would advise you on specifics if you want to do that. I mainly use Windows. I know how to record from a real-time host in Windows, but I'm not sure I see the point now Audacity has real-time preview, unless the effect you want does not work in Audacity. Using Jack to route audio playback thro...

Re: Bug: default sample format ignored for imports

What I see "now" (irrespective if Default Sample Format is 32-bit float or 16-bit) is that after Amplifying track 1 (whose track info says "32-bit float" but which contained 16-bit data prior to Amplify), that data is still 16-bit. Good heavens, that's correct  That is ev...

Re: lame command line export

If Standard has no advantage of either quality or time, why offer it at all? I agree with this point and have argued in the past that the "standard" option should be removed as (in 2015) it offers no benefit over vbr-new. Unfortunately resistance to removing that option is likely to remai...

Re: New version of "Crossfade Tracks"

To my uneducated eye, it looks like it decides to fade out or in depending on the position of the selection in the track or clip. Absolutely correct. More precisely, it looks at the proximity of the start of the selection to the start of the audio clips (call that distance "A"), and the p...

Re: Silent Subliminal Audio Tracks

Im looking for a Tutorial for making "Silent Subliminals" Many claims are made about the effects of subliminal stimuli. We have no information to verify such claims, other than information that is available through public resources such as Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sublimin...

We haven't used SVN since Audacity 2.1.0. We are currently working with the source code for Audacity 2.1.2.

Is there a question buried in here somewhere?

Re: lame command line export

I would rather not have to justify a preset to a committee before I can use it, just experiment myself and give it a name if I want to to re-use it. If you want to persuade a developer to invest the time and effort to develop a new feature, then you need to present a persuasive case for why they sh...
