Re: Noise removal settings for vinyl recording?
I'm going to use the low cut filter on my ART interface instead of any audacity filters. In case anyone wanted to know. The Low Cut on the Art interface does the same job, and will save you time and effort. Unfortunately the Art manual does not say what the cut-off frequency is, or how fast it roll...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
Is there such a use case? I've been trying to think of one but I've drawn a blank.Gale Andrews wrote:if there are fringe cases (tracks not intended to synchronize or not intended to mix?) where the track starts are required to stay put.

There is a load of information about digitizing LPs here; http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sa ... ation.html

Re: Copying material from Tutorials
To make an audio CD you must first "export" the audio from the Audacity project to make a normal audio file (an "Audacity project" is not a normal audio file. See here for how to export: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/exporting_audio.html The recommended export format is &q...

Re: Does anyone know a simple way to adjust effects?
I adjusted the speed of a certain part of a track How did you do that? If you used the "Change Speed" effect to speed up the track, then you can use the same effect to slow down the track. If you wish to affect only part of the track, "select" the part of the track that you wish...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
I agree that exporting leading whitespace should be an option. I think that applying stretch to leading whitespace is different. In this case we are applying an effect to a selection. When a single track is selected, the selection is from the start of the track to the end of the track, so in this co...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
Would users find silence before the clicks useful, within the selection? At the moment it could be useful when exporting multiple tracks because Audacity does not currently export leading whitespace, but I hope that we can fix that in 2.1.3. A related issue is how "stretch" effects handle...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
I don't think strong accent at 50% being a little louder is intuitive. I would have guessed (wrongly) that the strong click set to 50% would be half as loud again (+3 dB) compared to the weak click. Why do you say that you would have guessed wrongly? The control setting is not really a percentage o...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
I think that we can dispense with the "start time offset" control.
As the start time can (currently) only be defined relative to the selection, it is just as easy to set the start of the selection as it is to set an "off-set" amount.

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
Timpani are "tuned" and have a discernible pitch. Typically the range is F2 to F3, but smaller sizes can extend the range as high as C4 and a very large (32") drum cab extend the range down to C2. The idea of tuning a Timpani drum to A440 +/- 24 semitones is unrealistic. Some instrume...
