Re: "Mix+Render To New Track" Lossy?
I can tell flac from wav but the number crunchers say I shouldn't be able to. Have you tried ABX testing? (see: http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=ABX) Change the gain slider on a track and then duplicate the track. The waveform does not change on the original's display nor the duplicate's....

Re: How timeshift 1 trk of a 2trk recording with offset head
Split the stereo track, then use the Time Shift tool to drag one of the tracks left/right so that it lines up with the other track. Note that if both tracks are selected (highlighted) when you drag, both tracks will move together, so ensure that the tracks are not selected when you drag. If you use ...

Re: Newbie Mixer Question
You've not said what model the mixer is, so I can't check the manual (though I presume that you can), but generally if there is an XLR and a Jack socket in the same mixer channel then you can use only one or the other. Most mixers allow you to use the XLR socket in one mixer channel and a Jack socke...

Re: Looping Specific Part of Track
Audacity does not support loop points in exported files.
Even if it did, I don't think that WinAmp supports loop points in files either (though I could be wrong about that).

Re: How to match bit rate of original file for game?
Only if the sample rate selected for exporting is different from the sample rate of the tracks being exported, which is the same as now.Shaky wrote:Because you would have to run the sample rate conversion routine every time you save?

Re: Increase sound volume
Try this:
1. Import a file that you know is quiet.
2. Select All
3, Open the Amplify effect - write down what the default settings are and tell us in your reply.
4. Apply the effect with the default settings.
Has the waveform become noticeably taller?
Does it sound any louder?

Re: Will not right click
Because Audacity is a cross-platform application, and traditionally Mac computers have not had a right mouse button, "right click" is currently not used much in Audacity. In the current 2.1.1 version of Audacity, there is a right click menu on the Timeline (the time ruler above the track a...
