Re: Zoom Normal (Cmd+2) cursor position

I think that the behaviour will depend on whether "Zoom Normal" is zooming in or out (it could be doing either depending on the initial zoom level). When zooming In, I think the behaviour should be the same as Ctrl+1, and when zooming out, the same as Ctrl+3.

Re: Zoom Normal (Cmd+2) cursor position

Gale Andrews wrote:Does that mean that we would centre the playback (or recording) cursor (moving or paused) after Zoom Normal, as long as white space after the project was not showing?
Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+3 look OK to me during playback, so I'd suggest that Ctrl+2 should work the same way.

Re: source code structure and 'start recording' function

I would appreciate it if someone would tell me what the 'start recording' and 'stop recording' functions are named. See C ontrolToolBar::OnRecord(wxCommandEvent &evt) and ControlToolBar::StopPlaying(bool stopStream /* = true*/) in src/toolbars/ControlToolBar.cpp Also, is there any "Hierarc...

Re: Alto 802 vs Allen & Heath Zed 10 vs Yamaha MG12XU for a

For Allen & Heath, i've only really got experience of their big desks (such as the GL2400), which are really nice desks. The Z-series are much cheaper than the GL series and are designed home / semi-professional use whereas the GL series are professional quality desks. I'd guess that the Zed 10 ...

Re: audacity-2.1.0 fails to compile

The current version of Audacity is 2.1.1. The source code is available via the link on the Audacity web site: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/source

Audacity 2.1.1 requires WxWidgets 2.8.12
Audacity 2.1.2 requires WxWidgets 3.
See the README.txt file in the source code for more details.

Re: How to manually create binaural effect

The only way to actually make sounds come from above or behind is to use multiple speakers (for example, 8 speakers, one in each corner of a room.) Binaural recording is a "recording technique" which can provide "hints" for the listener's brain to interpret 3D localization from 2...

Re: Mosquito flight sound extraction

"Sound Finder" creates "labels" (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html) which may be exported as a text file.

Re: Mosquito flight sound extraction

You could remove frequencies outside of the range of interest using the Equalization effect. You would need settings similar to this: window-Equalization-000.png After filtering, there 'may' be enough amplitude difference between flying/not flying to be able to use "Sound Finder" (http://m...

Re: Music Mix

It there a possibilities to allign tracks End to End but between the words add 2 seconds of pause. You can either: Use the Time Shift tool to adjust the positions or Use this "Trim extend" effect to add a bit of silence to end of each clip: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect...
