Re: Pausing and playing out-of-focus?
Is there any sort of software or feature that can do this? "Alt + Tab" then "P" (pause) or "space" (play). "Alt + Tab" to return to the other window. Alternatively, you may be able to do something with AutoHotKey (not our software, and I've never used it, but...

Re: Tone Generators: Siren
Check that you have copied the code correctly. If you still get the problem, please post exactly the code that you are using in the Nyquist Prompt.

Re: Tone Generators: Siren
In the code (my last post), you will see that I have used "build-harmonic" (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~rbd/doc/nyquist/part8.html#index344) to create a wave-table with 6 harmonics. I did this to ensure that the frequency content of the waveform would not exceed the "Nyquist frequency"...

Re: recording not in stereo

Re: Music Mix
I don't think that I can help you further. I can't think of any simple and quick way to compile 8 hours of audio clips into voice and music productions in the way that you require.

Re: Amplify effect does not (audibly) amplify - what does it
No, as I said in the OP: This looked hopeful until I listened to the now seemingly amplified song - there was no audible difference whatever. In that case it would appear to be a problem with your playback system. From looking at the pictures that you posted, the amplified waveform should be notice...

Re: Tone Generators: Siren
I think this is a reasonably good approximation of the "Track 68" siren without making it overly complicated (below). Perhaps you would like to have a go at the others yourself. Give a shout if you get stuck. ;type generate (setf duration 10.0) ; duration in seconds ;Make a skewed triangle...

Did the song sound noticeably louder when played in Audacity immediately after amplifying?VenusAndMars wrote:This looked hopeful until I listened to the now seemingly amplified song - there was no audible difference whatever.

Re: Low volume from ATR2100 USB microphone
the video discusses roll and punch recording. Is it possible to do that with Audacity? The main difference between Roll and Punch in Pro Tools compared with Audacity is that Pro Tools allows multiple audio clips to overlap on the same track. Audacity can't do that. In Audacity, if audio clips overl...
