Re: Problem with vocals doing vinyl to CD conversion

Please try these two copies of your sample file. I'm guessing that "A" will sound fine to everyone except jdprice70 and "B" will sound weird to everyone except jdprice70. For jdprice70 I expect "A" will sound weird and "B" will sound fine. JPrice Test File A.w...

Me too. That message only occurs when Audacity is told to "Import" an AUP file.
Are you using Audacity with English Language?

Re: Emailing tracks

The Audacity Project requires both the _data folder and the AUP file.
It's a good idea to ZIP them as it ensures that the two parts stay together. How big is it when you do that?

Re: Bioacoustics - Minimum Frequency and Frequency Bandwidth

Assuming that you are using the current 2.1.1 version of Audacity (available here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/windows)... If you enable the "Spectral Selection Toolbar" and set it to show high and low frequency bounds (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/spectral_selection_toolb...

Re: Editing bar by bar

+1. It seems to be quite well implemented in Record Producer Deluxe according to the manual ( direct link to pdf ). Ideally I'd like to see this supported in Audacity via MIDI Meta events so that tempo mapping and time signatures can be supported. In the meantime, it is possible to create labels to ...

Re: Reverb quick fix

I don't have the (ancient) GVerb effect installed so I can't do a direct comparison. but if "Vocal 1" is not "reverby" enough, you can increase its strength by increasing the "Wet Gain (dB)" setting (default for "Vocal 1" is -12 dB). Try increasing to say &quo...

Re: Basic: how do I create a project?

Just change the dialog message to " "'Warning: Save Project' is for an Audacity Project, not an audio file. . . . Click OK to save to a new project." We have found that generally, the longer the message, the less likely people are to read it, so it is important to keep the message co...

Re: Keeping track of audio effects

Audacity is not a "real time DAW". When an effect is applied to the audio, it processes the audio immediately. While the project is open, you can undo effects, but only in order starting with the last action performed. For example if you: Record -> Normalize -> Noise Reduction -> Reverb th...

Re: Sample Tank 3 Plugin?

Gale Regardless of how I could get a file into Audacity, if I can't record a midi-controller using an instrument VST, I would be wasting my time with Audacity. The sad part is that IKMultimedia doesn't have a true recording DAW. Their products are mostly for live performance playback with loops and...

If you click on the vertical dark line so that it joins the clips, do you still get a pop?
