I presume that is a typo.

Please post the full information from "Audio device info".

Re: I can't record with my headphones

It appears that when plugged into your laptop, you are recording from the "earbuds" rather than from the "microphone". That is quite possible because headphones are much the same as "dynamic microphones" but working in reverse. This will happen if the wiring of the plug...

Re: Metadata Editor does not save custom fields

Hi Kelson, Thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately this patch seems to have fallen under the radar and it is now too late for Audacity 2.1.2. This is partly understandable because there have been some big updates to Audacity's internals (updating WxWidgets from 2.8 to 3) which has required a great de...

Re: Recording Level Limited

The problem with low recording volumes is related to Audacity: Not so. In the case of USB turntables, it is a generic problem with many of the cheaper brands. The manufacturers purposefully set the level low so that the turntable can handle loud modern pressing (and there is no user adjustment, whi...

Re: Recording Level Limited

Do you have "Phantom power" turned on?
The AT2020 requires 48v phantom power - if it's not on, turn down the level on the Audiobox before you switch it on.

Re: How best to 'extend' end of track for longer fade out

PS - If you like old piano blues and there's a way of you sending me a personal msg with your address. I'll get them to send you a comp copy of the CD when it's done. Very kind of you. Perhaps you could upload it to a file sharing site such a dropbox or sendspace.com or mailbigfile.com, and send me...

Re: Editing bar by bar

I have noted themickster's "vote". I'm a bit concerned that despite the number of requests for time as bars and beats, we don't have it listed as a specific feature request, but only as a sub-item of "BPM and beat timecode automatic detection and beat matching". There is a note ...

Re: Paste commands

I suspect that what themickster might be looking for is a "Paste Over" command (to complement the current "Paste Insert" command). I can see uses for such a feature, but also anticipate that it would bring lots of support questions along the lines of "Why do I get clicks whe...

Re: How best to 'extend' end of track for longer fade out

It's very difficult to get this perfect because the timbre of the note changes as it decays and it's very difficult to create that timbre change convincingly. A couple of things that you can try: 1) Select the tail end of the natural fade-out and use "Sliding Time scale / Pitch Shift" to s...

Re: Paste commands

If you make a "selection" in a track before you paste, then the pasted material will replace whatever was selected. So, if you make a selection that is exactly the same size as the audio that you are pasting, then the pasted material will fit exactly into the selected space and audio to th...
