Re: Won't save as mp3
YouTube does not support MP3s only videos (in a compatible format. There are many "free" online services that allow you to upload an audio file and a picture and will combine the two for you and upload to YouTube. Most of these "free" services are advert supported, which means th...

Re: Recording from USB turntable
The current version of Audacity is 2.1.1 and is available here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/mac We do not recommend using Audacity from other download sites as there are known to be "modified" versions that may include malware (not the real thing). The basic operation is that you ...

Re: Changing RMS of an audio file?
for example let assume RMS of xyz.wav is NNN, and I want to have another version of this audio file with RMS value equal to 1/2 * NNN Note that the level in dB is a ratio relative to "full scale" (0 dB), so valid signal levels are negative numbers. -6 dB is half the amplitude of 0 dB, -12...

Re: Extracting Binaural Beats from audio
how did you know exactly that the "tones" where at 296hz and 304hz? I knew the exact frequencies because I made it as a demonstration ;) It's not possible to see "exactly" what the frequencies are, but by using a large "window size" and zooming in very close on the ver...

Re: Server executio failed
Since I started using Audacity 2.1.1 which I obtained the .exe installer on a Windows 7 desktop I am getting this error occurring when I attempt to play songs using Windows Media Player. I think that is most likely a coincidence. The error message is a Windows Media Player error that occurs when Me...

Re: Why can you not record into an existing track?
The short answer is that Audacity does not (yet) support multiple "takes" on the same track. To expand on that a little; that means that if you did record "inside" currently recorded audio, then the new recording would overwrite the previously recorded data, in much the same way ...

Re: Ripping cassettes at high speed
Would that work? Would it downgrade the sound quality? Yes it would work. Yes it would downgrade the sound quality (and as koz wrote, Dolby Noise Reduction would not work correctly, so you would need to play back with Dolby Noise Reduction turned off, which would mean more hiss). Encoding to MP3 al...
