Re: Improved "leveling" for speech
Is this plug-in still needed or can it be done with the normal leveler? If you want a "mild distortion effect", then "Leveler" may be the effect that you want. If you want to "even out" the volume of voices in a recording without distortion, then, in my opinion, the &q...

Re: How Do I Add more RIAA Curves?
"Amplify" always defaults to a peak level of 0 dB. That is not a user setting. "Normalize" allows you to set the peak level. If you set it to 0 dB then it will apply the same amount of amplification as the "Amplify" effect. Personally I prefer to leave a little "he...

Which song?fish_launcher wrote:I fixed it by just increasing the decibels of the other song.
The second song is badly distorted because it is too loud.
Re: Volume
Effects are not available while Audacity is in Play, Record or Pause mode. Click the "Stop" button to take it out of Play/Record mode, then try again.Charlie N wrote:Correct settings

Re: How Do I Add more RIAA Curves?
I just noticed when I apply the RIAA curve in the EQ it reduces the volume. But when I use the RIAA I uploaded awhile ago the volume doesn't change as much. Because the Equalization effect is boosting some frequencies and reducing others, the overall level may increase or decrease, depending on the...

Command prompt doesn't recognize SFC What is "SFC"? Saving the files as WAV is impossible Why, what happens? Do the projects have multiple tracks? If they do, have you tried exporting each track separately using "Export Selected Audio"? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/file_...

Note that the poster refers to other apps that do similar to the app I used. Yes, he literally says "other" applications ("Other programs"). He doesn't say what those "other" apps are. Perhaps he means programs such as "Pro Tools". Pro Tools has a well though...

Re: Help Repairing an Audio File w/ DS Speaker Quality
The music was, at some time in its life, 11025 kHz sample rate. You can see that by the sharp cut-off in the spectrum at about 5500 Hz.Unless you have a better quality original to work from, there's nothing that can be done to fix that. The high treble frequencies are not there and no amount of proc...

Re: Won't save as mp3
You need to select "File menu > Export Audio" not "File menu > Save".

Re: Single-file Help download suggestion
If you install the recommended version of Audacity then you will have the manual installed locally. See: Audacity 2.1.1 installer (24.0 MB, includes help files) http://web.audacityteam.org/download/windows There are about 340 pages to the manual, so it is far too large for a single HTML file. To dat...
