Re: Hard Limiter gone?
I tried the sinewave of 200Hz. After I never heard any differences by toggling between them, I inverted one of these tracks and mixed them togheter so only the differences between the tracks remain. The result was a silence... Even if I amplify that result, nothing there. I don't see how that can b...

Re: Hard Limiter gone?
Ok. I read that manual and I think, "Soft Clip" is the one I want but it doesn't work as described. Try generating a 200 Hz tone. then apply the "Soft Clipping" setting to half of the track an the "Hard Clipping" setting to the other half. The difference is clearly aud...

Re: Overglyph Function
Where is this going? The function is clearly called in two places, once in LabelTrack::HandleClick and once in TrackPanel::SetCursorAndTipWhenInLabelTrack. Why do you need to know?aminondo wrote:When is the function being called, what would I have to reproduce in a project to make the program call this function

Re: Selective volume level reduction
I would simply like to select all the sounds with volume amplitude ranges (from + to - ) in a specified range and reduce their volume, without touching the sound peaks higher than the set limit. The effect you describe is called a "Gate" ("Noise Gate"). There is a Noise Gate plu...

Re: Audacity crashes during spectrum building
I'm using Audacity 2.1.2 rc1 on Debian stable with XFCE desktop. No segmentation fault, no crash, but the imported file is garbage with those settings. Import with the detected settings: Encoding: 64 bit float; Byte order: Little-endian; Channels: 2 Channels (stereo); Start offset: 0 bytes; Amount t...

Re: Export other uncompressed files with chains?
Is there any workaround to get other bit rates for WAV exports in chains? The only workaround is to always keep at least one copy of all your work in a high quality format (such as 24-bit WAV). There are any number of batch file converters that can then convert those files to lower quality formats ...

Re: How is "clipping" determined?
Show Clipping is always enabled here, because I'm sensitive to "overdrive" conditions, but how does Audacity determine a "clip" condition? The red vertical lines (enabled in "View > Show Clipping") indicate that a sample value is greater or equal to 0 dB. It is therefo...
