Re: Mixing in Differen BPM's
The Change Temp effect is quite handy for working out how much "percent change" is required. For example you can see that 128 bpm to 134 bpm is 4.688 percent. Select and copy that value (Ctrl+C) and then cancel the effect. "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" generally produces bet...

Re: command to find loudest sample in selection, possible?
How far did you get? You've got that the basic structure (the syntax) is: (extract-abs <start> <end> <sound>) So we are "extracting" (trimming to) the section between <start> and <end> and the sound that we are trimming is "*track*" So in the original line: (extract-abs (get-peak...

Re: easy peak recording method for vinyls
You can avoid having to undo by using the recording meter. Click on the meter to activate it. It's easier to "read" the meter if you make it wider than the default size. When recording I usually drag it to the full width of my computer screen. You can also show better resolution at the hig...

Re: Garbled Audio
As it says in the FAQ, the "Audio to Buffer" setting also affects playback.
I don't use Mac OS X and I don't have this problem, but with no other solution to hand I would have thought it worth trying.

Re: Confused about audio interface
by plug in a condenser mic with Audacity directly Audacity is software. A microphone is hardware. Your statement does not make sense. Which version of Windows? Which version of Audacity? (look in "Help > About Audacity") What make/model of mic? How is the mic connected to your computer? W...

Re: Recording plays a semitone low
Hasn't optical out - just a stereo headphone socket - so he's run a mini-stereo lead out to a A/D converter box, and then either optical or coaxial to his digital recorder. Just a thought... When recording from its digital input, it will probably synchronise to the device that it is connected to. N...

Re: Recording plays a semitone low
He seems happy that the Audacity recording is at the same pitch/length as original. So this is not an Audacity problem at all? I suspect he'll have any manuals that are still available. if not, it is available here: http://www.rolandus.com/support/by_product/vs-880/owners_manuals/7559 and additiona...

Re: Sound dies when running audacity
Try this:BlackHoleDragon wrote:Whenever I run audacity the audio on my computer works for a brief moment,
1) Start playing some music in your preferred media player - ensure that it plays.
2) Launch Audacity, but do not do anything in Audacity, just let the program open.
3) Is your media player still playing?
