Where are your headphones plugged in?

In "Transport menu > Transport Option", ensure that "Software Playthrough" is NOT enabled.

Go to "Settings > Privacy > Microphone" and ensure “Allow apps to access your microphone” is set to “On.”

Open the Windows Sound control panel, and in the "Recording" tab ensure that the microphone shows activity in its green recording level meter when you speak.

Which "Export" option are you using?
What name have you entered for the exported file?
Where are you saving the file? (Which folder did you choose?)

To open Audacity I have to do it with Terminal You shouldn't need to use the Terminal to launch Audacity after the first time. After that the Mac should run Audacity when you click on its icon in the dock. also it doenst let me click on save the log. Why is that? Is the "Save" button gray...

and then midst recording will stop recording my audio and fill it in with a female voice saying "trial version" I've heard of a similar complaint that turned out to be a trial version VST plug-in. If you have installed any plug-ins, then worth checking if any of those are trial versions. ...
