Audio tape players don't have "files". To transfer from audio tape to the computer you must play the tape and record it.

Re: Record/save tracks alignment issue
The current version of Audacity is 2.1.1 and is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows Are you sure they are playing at the wrong speed and not just starting at slightly different times? When moving files around it is better to use WAV format as MP3 loses some audio quality and add...

Re: Administrator approval
Thanks Gale. Just a thought about making the default save/export directory the same as the import/open directory: There's quite a high chance that the imported data comes from read only media (for example, reading files from an MP3 CD), or from some other unsuitable location (web browsers will often...

Re: Everything is crashing now! Please help!
My guess is that it is a sound card driver problem. Let's take this one step at a time and see if we can isolate the problem. Did you install Audacity with the recommended "Audacity 2.1.1 installer " from here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/windows If so, run the installer again and...

Re: Crackling/clicks heard on all files
What "project rate" are you using? (bottom left corner of the main Audacity window). The default is 44100.

Move some export preferences into export interface

Re: Experimental waterfall spectrograms (picture!)
"3D waterfall spectrograms" are most commonly used as a "visualization aid". They also provide pretty "eye candy". I've never come across the use of this type of display for editing. To make it a useful tool for editing I would want to be able to rotate the 3D view and ...

Re: Extracting audio with labels using chains
My mistake, I forgot that had been added, though it still does not help in this case because Export Multiple is not supported by Chains.Gale Andrews wrote:It won't help, but Chains do support Analyze effects.
