Re: Wav Cue File Splitting
Audacity does not have built-in support for cue files, but it does have "label tracks" and can split tracks based on the labels. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sp ... racks.html

Re: Help.......Recording Gongs
You need to set the recording level for the loudest sound that you want to record.
It will not be helpful for your meditation, but to get a good recording, you need to hit the gong very hard while you set the levels.

Re: Live edition
To record the sound of the computer (Windows Vista or later), use "WASAPI loopback". See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... ndows.html

Re: GSnap VST plugin and Audacity v2.1.1
As far as I'm aware,GSnap does not work on Linux.
VST plug-ins are platform specific. Windows VSTs only work on Windows, Mac OS X VSTs only work on Macs, Linux VSTs (which are rare) only work on Linux.

Re: Recording playback on Windows 10
How are you recording? Are you using "WASAPI loopback"? (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... ndows.html)
How are you listening to the recording? Headphones? Computer speakers? Built-in laptop speakers?

No, because effects in Audacity do not yet support MIDI.

Re: Saving Files?
Try exporting it as a 16-bit WAV file and name the file "audiotest.wav" (without the quotes).
Does that still behave as a PDF file?

Re: Administrator approval
It seems that guest account can save data, but not by default. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CustomizeGuestSession If we are going to do this thoroughly it may be an idea for Audacity to warn about saving in the Guest's documents on those systems. I don't know if we can detect a guest session. W...

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
First, they must find the Import / Export Preference so as to hide the Metadata Editor I agree that part is not obvious, (part of the reason for this proposal). I would have thought it fairly obvious that adding metadata on exporting "a file" will apply the metadata to that file. It only ...
