Re: Audacity on Big Sur
The only glitch I have seen so far, and if there is a place to report it please let me know, that my headphone through speaker jack do not work when using Audacity. As soon as a quit, or go to a different program, headphones work again. Audacity directs its sound to whatever "playback device&q...

Re: My .aup file won't open
Don't mess with those files. The file and folder names are critical.Miranda_Black wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 9:14 pmEach of these files will open in audacity but they are seconds of the interview. There are hundreds of them.
Just move the entire _data folder to the same location as its .aup file, then open the .aup file with Audacity.

Re: Forced drive type
Audacity cannot use FAT formatted drives for the Temp directory because FAT does not support "sockets".
There's also the issue that even modest sized projects can easily exceed 4 GB, which is an issue now that the project is a single file.

Re: ACX plug in not working
ACX Check is a "Nyquist plug-in" and it needs to be installed. Instructions here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_effect_generator_and_analyzer_plug_ins_on_mac_os_x.html#nyquist_install You may need to enable the option "Allow overwriting" (see: https://manual.auda...

Re: "Reset Configuration" Confirmation Dialog
How about if there was a way to backup and restore your preference settings? I was rather hoping that it could be done as a Nyquist plug-in (with macro scripting commands), but unfortunately not, at least not yet. Making a backup is no problem, but restoring currently requires that Audacity is not ...

Re: changing pitch tool
files are 16bit/44.1khz Unless you have changed Audacity's defaults, that will be imported as a "32-bit float" track. If it is a 16-bit track, that will slow down processing as Audacity works internally in 32-bit float, so a 16 or 24-bit track has to be converted twice on each process (wi...

Re: My .aup file won't open
I do not believe the .aup file and the _data folder are in the "same location" (ie: they are not in the same folder)...could that be why Yes that could be the problem, and ... "Couldn't find project data folder" That indicates that it IS the problem. When a project is saved, the...

Re: ACX plug in not working
I can only get a txt file of the ACX plug in That "text" file IS the plug-in. It "should" have a file extension of ".ny", though Macs often add ".txt" to the name when you save it. How will I know what ACX plug in version I have? If you post a screenshot I ca...
