What are you trying to record from?
Try rebooting, then shut down any audio applications that open automatically (including Skype, Spotify, and any others), then try Audacity again. Do you still get the problem?

Re: MP3 tab edit
If you mean "Tags" (id3 tags) then many media players allow you to edit the tags.
MP3Tag is a good free program for editing the tags if you have a lot of files to do: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
What benefit do you see in ignoring track channel? A user may have set two mono tracks to left and right channels so that they have "separation" in their headphones while monitoring them, with the intention of mixing them down to one mono track. Setting the mix to "pre-channel" ...

Audacity 2.0.6 is obsolete.

Re: VS 2015, x64, and Code Cleanup
Just as a matter of interest, Nyquist includes a function REAL-RANDOM which produces random floating point numbers between specified minimum and maximum values. I've not looked at the C code, but you can see the code in action by running this snippet in the Nyquist Prompt (use the Debug button to se...

Re: Binaural beats plugin error messages
perhaps Steve could add an error message sometime if the first beat frequency field does not specify duration. You've obviously not tried untangling David's code ;) This does however seem to be a fairly popular plug-in, and it's not been updated since June 2007, so it's probably due for a bit of at...

Re: Recording from CD player by external clock sync via S/PD
All in all I was wondering if Audacity could record analog output (from a CD player) by locking the sampling clock to the external P/PDIF Audacity does not communicate directly with the sound card drivers. It connects to the sound card via the computer's sound system. You would therefore need to lo...
