Re: Something else that confounds me ...
At any rate, here's a small unprocessed sample of part of what I did tonight. That is very good for a raw audio sample. Congratulations :) As several have noted, it will pass the ACX specification just be amplifying it a little, but Audacity can improve on that further. The "ACX check" th...

Re: preferences clavinova using midi cables
Audacity can't record MIDI. Audacity only records audio (MIDI is not audio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI) To record the Clavinova in Audacity you need to connect an audio output from the Clavinova to a "stereo line input" of the computer. See here for more information: http://manual....

(There are many effects in that short clip) -Also, how can I remove a vocal (completely) from a song to have only instrumental left (over). -How can I remove the music completely to leave t...

Re: audio input from stereo into imac, line in vs. usb
"Most computer sound cards are not going to digitize the audio signal into a file format. That is correct. Sound cards do not convert sound into files. Sound cards convert sound into digital audio data, Most USB audio interfaces do the same. A recording application, such as Audacity, can then ...

Re: Install latest Audacity yet now get refusal on wma files
After the day from hell I should have not attempted my Audacity instal Too true, never a good idea starting something new at the end of a bad day. ;) OK, so you have a file that won't open in Audacity. Is it just that one file or is it the same with all of your old WMA files that worked in the prev...

Re: Drive speeds
The glitch certainly does sound like dropped data, though I'd be surprised if it is due to, or entirely due to disk speed. SSD's are certainly MUCH faster than any spinning disk drive. Using an SSD would ensure that there is no data bottleneck at that point, though it is not guaranteed to solve the ...

Re: Something else that confounds me ...
So the issue did appear to be the processing - the compress dynamics to be specific. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to consistently pass ACX without my voice sounding like a loud boom right up inside your ear. This sounds like good progress :) A short audio sample in WAV format (just a few s...
