Re: Adding Cover Art & Meeting I-85 Compliant Needs

I still have a question about this:
EBU R128 recommends to normalize audio at -23 LUFS.
Where does the -16 LUFS for podcasts come from? Has it been published by a US, European or International standards organization? If so, where do I find it?

Re: Something else that confounds me ...

I'm still unclear as to where he found that 125 approximation - as in where, specifically, he put the cursor to get that number. 125.png When the cursor is over the spectrum plot, readout in the "Cursor:" text box reads the position on the X-scale (the horizontal "Hz" scale). An...

Re: Binaural beats plugin error messages

OK the test results are in. it's keeps tell me from 0.00000000000000 to 50.0000000000000 to input after i put in 7.83 and it can't go pass 50 hertz by which i'm trying to pass 50 hz. The "beat frequency" settings must be in the range 0 to 50 Hz. For "binaural beats" it make no s...

Re: MIDI files

Audacity is primarily an audio program, not MIDI. Audacity can import, display and export MIDI files, but it can't record or play them, You'd really be better to use a MIDI program. See here for a list of programs that may suit the job better: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_MIDI_editors...

Re: monitoring play back through Zoom H4N with Audacity 2.0.

Nothing, either with or without headphones plugged to the Zoom. I've just checked on the Zoom website and that should work, so I'm guessing that there is a setting wrong somewhere. 1) Connect the Zoom to the computer as a USB interface. 2) Open the Windows Sound Control Panel and set the Zoom as th...

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks

Sigh. Which is not actually useful when I want to mix from the Tracks Menu or mix all selected tracks to save space. agreed that it's not useful if you want to include muted tracks in the mix, but it is useful if you want to exclude muted tracks from the mix. Whichever way round we have it (or have...

Re: Problem with *.wav play time file inside audacity

Audacity gets the length by decoding the file to PCM and then reading the exact length of the audio data.
Audio players will usually attempt to calculate the length of the file from the original encoded data and that may be slightly inaccurate.

Here's another sample in which I quickly edited out some of the clicks and noises.

and in ACX compliant 192 kbps CBR MP3:

Re: Something else that confounds me ...

Back again... ;) We have now dealt with basic equalization and DC offset, so this is the stage at which you would do any editing (cut / paste / delete ...) If there is any DC offset, that should always be dealt with before editing otherwise it can cause clicks at edit points. Noise Reduction. Becaus...

Re: monitoring play back through Zoom H4N with Audacity 2.0.

If you just play a track from Audacity (choose a loud track), can you hear it via the Zoom H4 if you just play without recording?
