Re: New Revised Loudness Standards From The EBU
Your statement above is 100%, incorrect! Anyone that has made it this far in this thread, please just clink the link in this post and you will read / see, the truth of this matter, for yourself. That is precisely why I posted a direct link to the actual paper. Here it is again: https://www.tcelectr...

Re: Creating aliased frequency peaks by under-sampling
then from the dropdown list on the track I've just made, going to Set Rate -> 8000 Hz. That does 'literally' what it says. Let's say that your initial track has a sample rate of 44100 Hz. That means that in each second of audio there are 44100 samples, or to put it another way, the sampled values f...

Audio for Mobile TV, iPad and iPod Thomas Lund Interesting paper. You can find it here: https://www.tcelectronic.com/media/2040040/mobile-test-paper-2013.pdf In brief, it's about how manufacturers might handle automatic loudness adjustments in mobile devices so that content can be produced to one, ...

Re: audacity 2.1.2 fails to compile on open suse 13.2
I've been puzzling over these "cannot convert from 'const char' to 'const wxChar *'" errors. I can't see any reason for them in what you are doing, but I did find that there was a bug in April 2015 which produced errors like this. The bug was fixed a couple of days later. Just wondering, w...

Re: *Tunnel Sound
That sounds very much like some sort of "noise reduction" or the related effect, "echo cancellation". Going purely from the sound I'd guess that it has been applied by the Windows Sound Enhancements, though it's possible that (too much) Noise Reduction has been applied by softwar...

Re: Creating aliased frequency peaks by under-sampling
How are you sampling it at 8000 Hz? I guess you're not using the "Track > Resample" command because that will give almost silence due to the anti-aliasing filter.Henkie_Guelph wrote:So that if I generate a signal at 7000 Hz and sample it at 8000 Hz

Re: Is Audacity, or is it wxWidgets, that is limited to 10.6
oh, and by the way, Audacity builds from the command line, but I haven't managed to get right what ever it needs to build in the XCode.app. I think that's mostly down to Apple. When I initially tried building on Mac, the Xcode GUI seemed very reluctant to work with anything other than its most rece...

Re: Is Audacity, or is it wxWidgets, that is limited to 10.6
You mean when building on Mac OS X I presume? I'm not certain (I'm very new to building on Mac) but I think that now we have updated WxWidgets it's Audacity that is the limiting factor. Hopefully not for much longer though. Work is currently starting to update to C++11 and to use a later version of ...

An "AUP" file is one part of an "Audacity project". It is a small file because it contains no audio data, but that also means that we can't hear what the problem is. See here for more information about "Audacity projects": http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_p...
