Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

I have also made numerous suggestions for making spectral editing more user friendly, but I'm not the developer that needs convincing. I like the idea of spectral editing but I don't think that its implementation is at all user friendly. It seems that everyone in QA and support agrees on that point....

Re: Mac git not compiling this morning. FYI

Yes it's broken on Mac at the moment. I'm not sufficiently experienced developing on OS X to fix it, so we're in the same boat ;) You can follow the progress on the developers mailing list - the public archive (rapidly updated) is here: http://audacity.238276.n2.nabble.com/audacity-devel-f238278.htm...

Re: fade- overlap track?

I can't see the point in that unless it's essential to have only one track or unless you are one of the "challenged" who want to just click and not make any decisions. In my opinion, now that (in Audacity 2.1.3 alpha) we have in "Crossfade tracks" the "Automatic" setti...

Re: How to plot dBFS from a wav file?

See here in the manual for more details: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audio_track_dropdown_menu.html Unfortunately Audacity does not have an option to display dBFS amplitude values for a 'normal' (linear scale) waveform display. The other main limitation is that in "Waveform (dB)" ...

Thanks for posting. I'll need to wait for the English version because Google translate does not translate it well enough ;)

Re: Audio Scrubbing doesn't stop after releasing mouse butto

Everybody who comes over from either video editing or reel-to-reel editing is horrified that Audacity won't scrub. What Audacity does right now is Best-First-Pass. Not a finished tool. The good news is that the difficult under-the-hood stuff necessary to make scrubbing work has now been done, and t...

Re: Latency fluctuating from run to run

I'm not sure if this is the same issue or not, but I get a latency correction error when I try to record additional tracks to a drum track I have imported. When I attempt to overdub, the recording cursor(?) gets stuck at before zero in the timeline. That error message is a bit misleading, but I'm n...

Re: Site Maintenance Sunday, 14 Feb 2016 at 0200 UTC

What did you do? Shampoo the carpets, wash the windows, dust the shelves, polish the doorknobs, and oil the hinges? Me? I did nothing. I was tucked up in bed. Buanzo and the guys from the colocation center on the other hand were installing new hardware and configuring it all to work properly. I hea...

Re: Audio Scrubbing doesn't stop after releasing mouse butto

is this a known issue? Yes. It's the way that it was designed to work, though I agree that it ruins the scrubbing experience for me too. Maybe related to Windows 10 only? No. As far as I'm aware it is the same on all platforms. is there anything I can do to solve it? Not unless you can either (a) p...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

You mean effects without a GUI? Yes that would be a problem without an indication of a spectral selection in waveform views. Yes, effects without a GUI. At present that is only "Spectral Edit Multi-Tool". Rhetorical question - why do we want "Spectral Edit Multi-Tool" without a ...
