Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

if it were down to me, there would be a Spectral Selection draw tool, and a Frequency Selection toolbar. By default, if not in a spectrogram view, selecting the Spectral Selection draw tool or opening the Frequency Selection toobar would pop up a message to say that these tools require a spectrogram...

Re: Noise Reduction

the whistling/humming noise could be coming from the computer, but I doubt that the hiss is, unless your computer makes a very audible hissing sound (some do make "shhh" noises from their fans). While recording, place yourself as far from the computer as you can to reduce the amount of fan...

Re: I AM NOT GETTING SOUND WHEN RECORDING FROM CASSETTE

It's not "the same problem" because the topic that you posted to was about recording from a USB device, so I've split your post to a new topic. when I tried to record the next time I got nothing What does that mean? Did you get a "flat line" recording, or did recording not start,...

Re: Noise Reduction

This version has a bit more hiss than koz's version, but greater clarity of the guitar sound. I've also added a little Reverb effect (Vocal 2 setting with the "wet" turned down a bit) Blues 2-13-16-processed.wav I think the equipment is probably letting you down a bit. SM-57s are good reli...

Re: Noise Reduction

Try running this code in the Nyquist Prompt effect (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/nyquist_prompt.html) before applying any noise reduction. (notch2 (notch2 (notch2 (notch2 *track* 4000 50) 3000 40) 2000 30) 1000 20) It is a series of notch filters at 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 Hz. Then apply t...

Unfortunately downloading it 2 days ago does not guarantee that you have the current version (it depends on exactly where you downloaded from). Look in Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity" for the exact version number.
