Re: Transport Toolbar Tooltips
if someone unsets a shortcut for any of those Transport buttons they will still see "()". I think it could be better to show nothing rather than "()". Imo, if there is no shortcut set, then no shortcut (and no brackets) should be shown. If there is no shortcut for Play or Loop P...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
That would be confusing when going into Keyboard Preferences to change shortcuts. Three shortcuts for what appear to be two commands is somewhat confusing. Wouldn't it be better for users if the "play/stop" command was hidden from the UI such that the user is presented with two commands, ...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
On the subject of tooltips, I've noticed a minor bug since we upgraded to wxWidgets 3.0 - every now and then the playback volume tooltip opens for no apparent reason and remains open until I hover the mouse pointer over the control for several seconds. The weirdest thing about this is that when this...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
That could really make the Play button tooltip long, but I don't object. Others might. By default it just has the word "space" added, rather than the meaningless "()". I think that would be an improvement. For experienced users, tooltips should rarely be seen due to the hover de...

Re: Adding "timbre" to (almost) pure modulated sin tones
I don't guarantee that this will produce the musical timbre that you want, but this is a bit of information concerning adding harmonics to sine waves: A sine wave can be said to be the "simplest" waveform in that it may be fully described as a single periodic oscillation (with a given phas...

Re: LAME setup problem for audacity 2.0.6 debian jessie
It's 'normal' for Audacity on Ubuntu to not have a "libraries" page in the preferences (due to the way that Ubuntu build Audacity). It "may" be the same for some versions of Debian. Try exporting as Mp3. Do you get an error message?

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
Either we show the default "Play/Stop" shortcut in the tooltips for both "Play" and "Stop" buttons, or we set default shortcuts for Play only and Stop only. I think the most useful approach for users would be to show whatever key(s) currently act as a shortcut for the ...

Re: Adding Cover Art & Meeting I-85 Compliant Needs
The upper frequency limit of 196000 Hz sample rate is 98000 Hz. 8*98000 Hz is 784000 Hz. The upper frequency limit of "audio" is around 20000 Hz (the maximum extent of human hearing). Even if audio is sampled at 196 kHz (or above), the analog signal will generally be band-limited to aroun...

Re: Adding Cover Art & Meeting I-85 Compliant Needs
Does this depend on 44100 Hz to begin with, and does it require changing to a higher rate than 192000 Hz if the original audio is at a higher rate than 44100 Hz? The specification for "true peak" assumes a normal audio bandwidth - that is, up to about 20 kHz. The recommended 4 times overs...
