Almost as quick to just press Ctrl+L ;)
Anyway, if you do that, avoid overwriting your originals - good practice for all audio editing is to keep backups of everything.

Re: Add silence from length

Batch processing files can only be performed on one file at a time. There's no way to import a second file into the project as part of a batch process. The quickest way that I can think of to extend a file to the same length as a longer file is: 1) Import the (longer) original file and the (shorter)...

Re: Changing homepage URL

I think the best I can do is to remove the out of date website and profile. The forum software does not provide control over individual profile fields, and it looks like the options for editing the old profile fields via the User Control Panel have been permanently deleted from the forum template. I...

Re: Audacity 2.x.x takes 1 min to start, Audacity < 1.3.0 2

weird, but works for me! My guess is that your anti-virus was scanning Audacity before launching it - perhaps because it was installed by directly running the downloaded exe. Then by moving around different versions of Audacity, your anti-virus has now worked out that Audacity is a known applicatio...

Re: gradual bitcrush plugin?

It doesn't really make sense to "gradually" go from one setting to another in a bitcrusher effect. The distinctive character of a bitcrusher effect is produced by reducing the number of "bits" per sample. For example, CD audio has 16 bits per sample, which is pretty high quality....

Re: Spectral selection labels

Have there been requests for multiple selections? I don't recall if it is logged on the Features Request page of the wiki, but I know that at least a couple of the developers are keen on the idea and there are many cases in which it would be very useful. If there is a repeating "event" in...

Re: Audacity 2.1 crashes

So you must have added some unofficial repository to your software sources. If Synaptic Package Manager is installed, you can probably find which repository Audacity has come from by looking in the "Origin" tab. Where does sound come out from your computer? Do you make recordings, or just...

Re: Spectral selection labels

I guess the best solution would be to be able to select all labelled regions simultaneously, but given that Audacity does not yet support multiple time selections, that is not yet possible. The practicality of tabbing during playback depends on how many labels you have, how frequently they are place...
