Re: Lame settings [SOLVED]

Bubbly sound is one thing, broken is another. "VBR" is not "broken". Some media player are "broken", but I've just tested all four media players on my computer and they all play VBR MP3s correctly. Certainly there are "some" use cases that require CBR, just a...

Re: Can't export into multiple tracks

Export multiple when there are labels AND multiple tracks is not currently working properly. Re: automatic pitch

What is the "Project Rate" set to in Audacity? (lower left corner of the main window)
If it's set to 44100, try setting it to 48000. If it's set to 48000, try setting it to 44100. Then make a test recording.
If that helps, then we can set it as the default.

Re: Weird noises when recording

Try the suggestions in the "Why do I hear clicky playback on Mac OS X" item here:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... mac_buffer

(The default "Audio to Buffer" is 100 ms - you probably shouldn't go much over that, probably a lot less).

Re: Tape player

do you have an "ordinary tape player"? What sort? "Hi-fi" tape players can work extremely well, depending on what you have got.

Thanks for the details and clarification sizemore. Looking at the "Audio device info": This looks weird to me (though I'm not an expert on Windows). Your recording device is set to: Device name: Speakers / Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) (loopback) Host name: Windows WASAPI Your...
