Re: Audacity playback at 5x speed
Good to know, but then why does Default show up as an option in the Audacity playback menu along w/ Pulse? Let me rephrase my comment: On a standard Ubuntu installation, the default playback device is PulseAudio. On other systems it may be different. Where does it feed sound to? Where does the soun...

Re: I can't get "SpectrumToEqCurve.ny" to work in 2-1-2
The version that you posted the link for has a limit of 128 (or 127) data points, but that's not what is causing the current error. In the version that you posted the link to, the control "Input Spectrum text file\n(max 128 points)" requires the exact file path to the text file that contai...

Re: I can't get "SpectrumToEqCurve.ny" to work in 2-1-2
Mind you, I don't understand what a "point" means. I'd have thought a "point" was a frequency/level pair, so the number of lines of data in the exported spectrum file. I would have expected with size 128 there there would be 64 lines of data, but there are only 63 lines. In this...

Where does it feed sound to? Where does the sound come out?RAaudacity wrote:1 of them is Pulse, which plays at 5x, and does feed sound.
"Pulse" is the default, so that's just the same output as selecting "Pulse".RAaudacity wrote:1 of them is Default, which plays at 5x, and does feed sound

Re: problem with Sending mp3 to Windows Media Player
Let's try to narrow down the problem. When you get to the Export step, set the export format to "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM" (that's a normal WAV file), and give it the name (exactly but without the quotes) "mytest1.wav" Did that work in WMP? If it did, from the same Audac...

Re: ReplayGain in FLAC
if FLAC is pumped up What exactly do you mean by "pumped up"? ReplayGain tags should only tell the player how much gain to apply to the audio on playback, they should not change the audio in any way. You seem to be under the (false) impression that ReplayGain compresses the dynamics in so...

Re: Trying to record voice and audio at the same time
trying to mix live singing with pre-recorded music The way to do that is, as Gale wrote, Import the pre-recorded music into Audacity, then record the live singing (which will appear as a new track below the imported music). This is called "overdubbing" (or "over-dub recording")....
