Re: Exporting RAW to a CS4334 DAC
are the "Signed" 8/16/24/32 PCM encoding integers? Yes they are. Audacity works internally with 32-bit floating point sample values (IEEE 754). This is a really nice format for working with audio. Sample values are literally numeric values. A signal level of 0 dB has a peak value of +/- 1...

Re: problems with usb interfaces
The first thing to do is to look in the recording tab of the Windows Sound Control Panel and ensure that Windows is receiving a signal from the device. When you have established that Windows can see the device and is receiving a signal, then start Audacity and select the USB device in the recording ...

Re: Exporting RAW to a CS4334 DAC
On Linux, exporting RAW signed 16-bit PCM data is little endian. I don't know if that's the same on other platforms. Time to get your Hex editor out I think ;) To check the data sample values within a track in Audacity, there is the "Sample Data Export" tool: http://manual.audacityteam.org...

Re: A feature I would like........
Does the disabled knob position indicate the control value if the value has been changed by typing? (or if a saved project has a non-zero slider position)?Edgar wrote:Only the knob is disabled; you may still double-click on the control to open its dialog box where you may type in values.

Re: Exporting true stereo file
I actually meant this mode but I assumed it would have been renamed within Audacity because "Dual Mono" is normally used in the sense "two channels, same content". Thank you Steve for looking it up. There's also a "-m s" option which is closely related to "-m d&qu...

Re: Mute and unmute microphone while recording?
For new recordings: 1) "R" key to start recording. 2) Record a phrase 3) "Space" to stop the recording. 4) Click on the waveform a few seconds beyond the end of the recording. 5) "Shift + R" to "Append Record". The recording will insert silence from the end of...

Re: A feature I would like........
Another thing is I found the "name track" function doesn't work as expected. When the text box pops up; upon trying to type a name into the box the keystrokes are read as shortcut commands. That's a bug. It's been fixed now, but I'm not sure if the fix is in the release version or just in...

Thank you for your feedback Roffen. I hope you are able to find a program that is more to your liking.Roffen wrote:But I refuse to use Audacity, and that's not beacuse there's anything wrong with Audacity. It just isn't what I want.
