Re: Installing Chris's Compressor...

Chris's Compressor is a "Nyquist plug-in". This type of plug-in is just a plain text file which provides instructions for the Nyquist interpreter that is built into Audacity. To install this, or any other Nyquist plug-in, see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-in...

Re: Create an empty AIFF file of certain length via command

Audacity isn't a command line program, so I'm not sure what you're asking.

Re: please help check noisy audio lecture

Not much can be done with that. In future you need to get the microphone much closer to the person that is talking.

Re: Labels2CueSheet - Labels to Cue Sheet Converter for Wind

What's the difference between the "Labels2CueSheets.exe" file on GitHub and the "Labels2CueSheets.exe" file that you posted originally to the forum?

Not in Audacity.
I know that you can have FLAC encoded audio in an OGG container, but I don't think you can have Vorbis encoded audio in a FLAC container.

Re: Suggestion for new Nyquist plug-in, Morse code generator

So that you can see where we're going with this, here's a little teaser ;) Can you work out what it's doing and how? Feel free to ask questions. ;type generate (setf data (list 0 0 0 0 2 0 2 0 1 0 0 2 0 1 0 0 2 1 1 1 3 0 1 1 2 1 1 1 2 0 1 0 2 0 1 0 0 2 1 0 0 2)) (setf letter 0.12) ; length of gap be...

Re: Compiling from source, ffmpeg versioning. Confused

You've not quoted any version numbers, but version numbers are probably the key to solving the problem. My understanding is that FFmpeg in Fedora is built without support for "restricted" formats, so that sends you to building FFmpeg from the source code. According to the Audacity document...

Re: Suggestion for new Nyquist plug-in, Morse code generator

Hello. I am attempting to post this into the Nyquist forms, if I post to the wrong form, I do apologize in advance. No apology needed - you've found exactly the right place :) I know nothing of the Nyquist programming language That can be rectified ;) What I am thinking of, is for the plug-in to ha...

Re: Audacity for CoolEdit user - reducing the learning curve

If I could find a way to get Audacity to perform the same functions with the same keys, it would be awesome. Is there a way? Do you intend to only use Audacity very occasionally and continue to use CoolEdit as your "main" editor? If so, then look here for how to customise keyboard shortcu...

Re: cross fade in/out automatic

Some media players can do that on the fly. Check the manual for your media player and see if it can.
