Re: recording problem
Ensure that you select your microphone as the recording device in the device toolbar and not "sound mapper" or "stereo mix" or "what u hear".

Re: basilar info
First of all, how can I adjust the tone of a mp3 song .. higher .. lower.. to level and to fix the song for my voice? "Change Pitch" effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/change_pitch.html If you change it too far it will start to sound strange. Better sound quality can be achieved u...

Re: sound activated recording crash
What are you trying to record?
Does recording work OK with "sound activated" disabled?
Is the problem repeatable?

Re: sound activated recording crash
What are you trying to record?
My guess is that Audacity lost its connection to PulseAudio. Depending on what you are recording, there will be a way to bypass PulseAudio.

Re: Hard Limiter doesnt work. Error pluging dll
Do you mean the LADSPA "Hard Limiter" plug-in? Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity") Which version of Windows? If you are using a recent version of Audacity, there is a new Limiter effect included that generally gives better results than the o...

Re: Export size
The size of an exported MP3 is a trade-off against sound quality. Smaller files are achieved by increasing the amount of compression, but this also reduces the sound quality. Less compression gives better sound quality but larger files. Older versions of Audacity had a default MP3 format of "12...

Re: Any suggestions how to remove the following noise?
Is that a repair that went wrong? It would probably be better to repair the original audio than to repair the repair, but I'm guessing that you don't have a backup so it's either work with this or re-record the whole thing - am I right? Working with what we've got (times are approximate and may be t...

Re: Record high pitched sound (long post, but please help)
Please post a short sample (just 4 or 5 seconds) in WAV format to the forum. The sample should be the raw recording with no additional processing at all. Just "record, select, export selection". See here for details about posting an audio sample: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php...
