No, "English Breakfast Tea" is what we call "tea".

Not by default, though one can be set.

Oh, it sounds like you've got Sync-Lock set wrong. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/edit ... .html#link
Sync-Lock is off by default.

Re: budget usb stick soundcard

I've not used any of these (I use a UCA202), but the Xonar U3 is said to work on Linux (http://askubuntu.com/questions/104697/i ... -supported)

Re: Post-Production Copy and Pasting

My guess: You have inadvertently enabled "Sync Lock", but I don't know why you have not reported "clock" images on tracks. I created a new mono track Could you give a click by click account starting with how you did that: "With the first track selected and highlighted, I cli...

Re: Sound problem

The link in the original post opens a page that tries to run a lot of scripts from 3rd party sites. My browser security blocked 13 such scripts. Some of them are from 'probably harmless' shopping sites, but at least 6 of them are from sites that are blacklisted by multiple security lists in relation...

Re: newbie, How to continue recording after stop on track?

Two options:
1) Rather than pressing Stop, press Pause, then un-pause to resume recording.
2) To continue recording on the same track after stopping a recording, use "Append Record" ("shift+R", or shift+Record button, or select "Append Record" from the Transport menu).

You know that a normal WAV file has a 4 GB limit? Are you hitting that limit?

Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel. The USB device should be listed and enabled as a recording device. When you play a cassette, you should see green meters responding to the sound.

Re: Record high pitched sound (long post, but please help)

I have to disagree with you there. From what I've learnt, humans can hear up to around 20 kHz, and in some cases even more if you're young enough. Personally I tried this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxcbppCX6Rk test on Youtube, and I can hear the 19 kHz sound perfectly fine if it's loud enough....
